At Trauma Rescue Aid (TRAID), our core humanitarian mission is to advocate for trauma recovery and peacebuilding, enabling survivors to recover, reconcile, and rebuild their lives.
A Journey to Healing: Amina’s Story
Amina, a refugee from Sudan now residing in Mukono, Uganda, shares her courageous journey towards healing with the support of TRAID. Before joining our counseling sessions, Amina and her family faced unimaginable trauma, struggling to cope with their losses. Through individual and group counseling sessions, Amina found a safe space to express her feelings, process her experiences, and develop effective coping strategies. The support didn’t stop there—TRAID’s food distribution program ensured that Amina’s family received the nutrition they needed to support their physical and emotional recovery. Today, Amina is beginning to rebuild her life, step by step, finding hope and resilience amidst adversity.
